A rep for Rhymefest has told AllHipHop.com that the Chicago rapper will not seek a recount in a close election that saw him lose the race for 20th Ward Alderman for the city.
"Next week his campaign will release a report about some of the election irregularities that occurred in the 20th Ward," a rep for the rapper told AllHipHop.com.
According to reports, 98 percent of the precincts voted in the race, which saw former city cop Willie Cochran defend his title as Alderman of the 20th Ward, by garnering 53 percent of the votes to Rhymefest's 46 percent.
Rhymefest and his attorneys questioned election officials earlier in the week, and have decided not to pursue any further action, although they still plan to question the results in the report next week.
Earlier today (April 9th), Rhymefest was a featured panelist at Al Sharpton's National Action Network's Leadership Forum.
