AHH Stray News: Timbaland Cancels Dates, Nick Cannon's New Show, Grammy's Consolidate

Timbaland has canceled all of his appearances on the upcoming Supafest Tour, that is slated to kick off today (April 9th) in Sydney, Australia. Timbaland is one of a group of rap stars touring the country this month as part of the Supafest tour. Snoop Dogg, Busta Rhymes, Fat Joe, Nelly, The Game, Bow Wow, Ciara, T-Pain, Keri Hilson, The New Boyz, Taio Cruz, Benny D., DJ Nino Brown, Miracle and Israel are still slated to hit the stage as scheduled. No reason was given for Timbaland's sudden cancelation, according to promoters of Supafest. Other dates on the tour include April 10th in Perth, April 16th in Brisbane and April 17th in Melbourne.

Actor/rapper/mogul Nick Cannon recently landed his own nationally syndicated countdown program that will broadcast on CBS Radio Stations, in addition to being syndicated nationwide by Citadel Media. "Cannon's Countdown" will be made available to Pop/Rhythmic and Urban Stations across the country. The show is slated to debut in 24 markets on April 23rd. Nick Cannon's new show will be heard on major markets like New York (WXRK), Chicago (WBBM), San Francisco (KMVQ), Houston (KKHH), Atlanta (WVEE), Washington D.C. (WPGC) and Detroit (WDZH)."CBS RADIO has been an incredible partner," Cannon said. "With the success that we've had together with my morning show on 92.3 NOW in the New York City tri-state I am thrilled to now have the opportunity to reach radio listeners nationwide with my new 'Cannon's Countdown' show." The National Academy of Arts and Sciences (NARAS) has announced changes to over 30 categories, some of which will impact Hip-Hop and R&B artists. According to reports, the Best Rap Solo Performance and Best Rap Group Performance have been merged into one category, while the Grammy's eliminated a number of fields in the R&B genre. The Best Album, Best Song, Best R&B Performance and Traditional R&B Performance categories will no longer be separated by Male and Female, thus reducing the amount of potential winners for the 2010 Grammy Awards.
