Taboo from the Black Eyed Peas is preparing his first foray into the world of literature this month, when autobiography Fallin' Up: My Story lands in stores.
The rags-to-riches story tells Taboo's story from his rough, childhood upbringing in Los Angeles, to his tenure as a member of the world famous Hip-Hop group, The Black EyedPeas .
Taboo, born Jaime Luis Gomez, tells the story of his life and the fateful evening he met fellow group members will.I.am and apl.de.ap in a Los Angeles club around 1995.
"No one…had ever heard of a Mexican b-boy," Taboo said. "I was a Hip-Hop kid in a community where there was no such thing as hip-hop kids.”
Taboo also details his first encounter with group member Stacy "Fergie" Ferguson and the evolution of The Black EyedPeas with Fergie, in addition to numerous celebrity encounters.
And while there's enough salacious material in Fallin' Up:, Taboo also gets personal with readers.
The book reveals how the six-time Grammy Award winning rapper neglected the son he had at the age of 18, his battle with drug and alcohol addiction, which include drunken mishaps as a member of BEP.
Fallin' Up My Story by Taboo of The Black Eyed Peas, is due in stores on February 8th, for $24.99.
In related news, Taboo and The Black Eyed Peas will provide the halftime entertainment for this year's Super Bowl, which airs February 6th.
