Miami rapper Flo Rida is launching a new event to help students in his hometown.
The chart topping rapper and his Florida Youth Football League are hosting the “Back 2 School Fest” this Sunday.Flo Rida’s “Back 2 School Fest” serves as a way to get local students excited about the upcoming school year.
“Our goal is to assist parents with getting their children prepared for back to school,” Flo Rida told AllHipHop.com from Japan, where he is currently on tour.
“With the launch of the FYFL, we’re adding a youth football jamboree into the entertainment to showcase our student athletes and cheerleaders,” said the rapper, who will jet home from Japan to make the appearance.
The “Back 2 School Fest” will also serve as the launch of the inaugural “Florida Youth Football League Free Concert & Football Jamboree.”
The free concert will be headlined by Flo Rida and will also feature appearances by Trina, Rocko, Billy Blue and others.
Teens who attend the free community event will receive backpacks, school supplies, haircuts, health screenings and other services to help students excel.
The “Back 2 School Fest/Florida Youth Football League Free Concert & Football Jamboree” takes place on Sunday, August 12, from 11AM to 9PM at Traz Powell Stadium.
The event is sponsored by Strong Arm Management, International Music Group, Dr. Wilbert Holloway District 1, Power 96, Truu Swag, Chop Shop, Gatorade and others.
