DJ Megatron Killers Arrested:
Two men have been arrested in connection to the March 27 shooting death of DJ Megatron. 21-year-old William Williams and 20-year-old Richard Cromwell have been charged with second-degree murder for fatally shooting Corey McGriff, otherwise known as DJ Megatron.
The 30-year-old radio and television personality was killed in a botched robbery attempt in the early hours of March 27 one block from his home in the Clifton section of Staten Island, according to the police. The pair confessed to the crime, prosecutors said, with Williams admitting to firing the fatal shot. Cromwell stole the watch DJ Megatron’s daughter gave him while he laid dying on the concrete. However, both men have pleaded not guilty to murder, robbery and criminal possession of a weapon and have been held without bail. Williams’ defense lawyer, Mario Gallucci, insists his client never confessed, adding that the murder weapon has yet to be found.
DJ Megatron worked at BET’s 106 & Park after starting his career out as an intern with Hot 97′s street team.
DJ Megatron was laid to rest on Tuesday, April 5th. He leaves behind grieving parents and three small children.
