Skillz Writes, Stars In New Movie 'Byron'

Richmond, Virginia rapper Skillz will flex his acting chops in the upcoming movie Byron, which he also wrote.

The movie, which stars Nadine Valazquez (War), Cisco Reyes (Next Day Air) and Dominic Comperatore (The Good German), was directed by award-winning director Yolande Geralds.

Byron centers around a character named Dee, a drug dealer who is attempting to better himself an his girlfriend "Jessica," who struggles to raise their 10-year-old son, as Dee comes in and out of their lives.

As Dee serves his drugs, he takes notice of one well-groomed paying customer, who's life begins to decline before Dee's eyes, as he sells him his drug of choice.

Life takes a turn for the worst for the young couple, when Jessica is involved in a serious car accident that forces Dee to make a variety of tough choices with his life.

"Its just about circumstances and life. When people end up meeting each other and inevitably their whole lives change," Skillz told AllHipHop.com in a statement. "Its just some things in life that you cant change."

Byron is being produced in associated with Graison Dunn Entertainment and Big Kidz Films.

Other stars in Byron include Short Dawg, Erron Jay, Phoenix Jacob and others.

Byron will premier tonight (February 3rd) at the Cinema Cafe in Chesapeake, Virginia.
