Pac10 Reps Sue Tupac Fan Over 'Pac12.com' Domain Name

A lawsuit has broken out between basketball conference Pac-10 and a fan of Tupac Shakur, who owns a domain name the organization seeks to acquire for future tournaments.

The Pac-10, which counts schools like University of Southern California, UCLA and Arizona State as members, will rename their conference "Pac-12," due to the addition of two new teams to the conference.

But they have encountered an issue acquiring the Pac12.com domain name, which is owned by a fan of Tupac Shakur.

The Pac12.com website was dormant for quite sometime. But when the Pac-10 filed a lawsuit last week, the owner added a widget for customers to purchase music from Tupac, who was slain in Las Vegas in September of 1996.

According to the USA Today, representatives for Pac-10 are hoping to reach a settlement with the owner of the domain.
