Ace Capone's Girl Gets Two Years For Money Laundering

The fallout over the conviction of drug boss/rapper Alton "Ace" Capone continued in a courtroom last week, when his longtime girlfriend was sentenced to two years in prison for money laundering.

In 2008, Ace Capone, who headed up the Philadelphia label Take Down Records, was convicted of running a $25 million dollar cocaine distribution network.

Investigators claimed the network smuggled tons of cocaine and crack throughout Southern New Jersey, Philadelphia, Delaware and Maryland.

Last week, Asya Richardson, 30, fainted in court, when U.S. District Court Judge R. Barclay Surrick sentenced her to the prison term for lying on mortgage documents.

Richardson was convicted of lying about her income to help Ace Capone launder $114,000 dollars to purchase a house.

She was one of three women Ace Capone used to help launder his drug proceeds.

One woman testified against the rapper and the other has already been sentenced to 42 months in prison.

In 2009, Ace Capone was sentenced to life in prison, plus 55 years for running the drug distribution network.

He was convicted in part, due to a video his label had created titled New Jack City: The Next Generation.

Ace Capone starred as a cocaine kingpin in the DVD, which was played to jurors during his trial.
