Here I am - in India, in Kerala - Trivandrum!!

Here I am - in India, in Kerala - Trivandrum!!! After 24 hours non - stop plane change... 3 hours sight -seeing in Kiev...I felt exhausted but happy.. Still cannot believe I've made it!!! Well...what can I say...I feel ....hmmm... surreal!! Got here yesterday afternoon.. was met by a nice British lady Avis Lyoins at the airport. She runs the Animal Rescue Centre and is the coordinator of this volunteer project. First impression about India?... well yes, it is filthy and dirty EVERYWHERE as I was told BUT the people over here are just ever sooooo nice, kind, friendly, polite - they keep smiling ALL the time...and I just keep smiling back...Spent the day at the shelter - met the staff and all the animals ( they have over 100 rescued dogs). Some of them have been so badly abandoned...I mean really badly...! Not so many cats over here though... Managed to help at the kennels as well as the vet at the clinic today. And walked the dogs in the evenin
g. Those people who work here are so passionate about what they are doing..they have done a major job...thanks to them so many animals have been saved...They are amazing.! And I am so happy to be able to help them...And all the dogs are so friendly some of them a bit timid but that is understandable...will take some pics of them later on...
Is it hot over here? OH YES, it is really hot, over 30 degrees but after 4 pm it gets better.
My accommodation place - simple and VERY basic.. but it is India .. you cannot possibly expect anything better than that.

I love those palm trees.....Nature is beautiful here.. and 2km away from the Rescue centre there is the beach called Lighthouse beach... AND it is allowed to swim there!!!! in fact it is a very famous tourist attraction place...Can't wait to go there!!!Will be able to swim in the ocean !!!! Amazing!!!!!
Well I guess that's it for now...I feel good and I feel happy to be here it IS GONNA be an experience I will remember for the rest of my life...Now I am absolutely sure about that!
Oh, and that pic is a view out of my window tonight - full moon and the palms! :)
To be continued... xoxoxo
