Eminem's 'Born of Fire' Commercial Wins Five Awards In Cannes, France

(Lost-9fm news) Hip-Hop mogul Jay-Z is not the only rap artist to walk away with awards during the Cannes Lions 58th International Festival of Creativity.

Chrysler's “Born of Fire” commercial featuring world-renowned rapper Eminem took home five awards on Saturday (June 25th), in Cannes.

The ad, which also included Em's hit single "Lose Yourself" was awarded statues for Best Direction, Best Script, Best Use of Music, Best Automotive Commercial and Best Editing.

The commercial, which debuted during Super Bowl XLV, was also awarded a Bronze Lion Award for Best Editing in a Commercial.

"The Chrysler Brand is humbled to be awarded with such a prestigious honor at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity," said Olivier Francois, President and CEO – Chrysler Brand and Lead Executive for Marketing, Chrysler Group LLC.

"The 'Born of Fire' commercial and the 'Imported from Detroit' campaign describes the comeback of the Chrysler brand and truly defines American luxury," Francois said.

Chrysler reps also took the time to take a swipe at rival car company Audi, which is being sued by Eminem's publishing company for illegally recreating his hit song “Lose Yourself” in a commercial that many felt was a copy of the “Born of Fire” spot.

"There is only one true 'Born of Fire' commercial and it was created by the Chrysler brand," a rep for Chrysler said.

In addition to Eminem, Jay-Z was also a big winner at the Cannes Lions 58th International Festival of Creativity.

Ad agency Droga5's ad campaign for the rapper's book “Decoded” with Microsoft's search engine Bing.com, snagged the Integrated Grand Prix and Titanium Lion awards.
