Ja Rule is reportedly to serve two years in prison for gun charges.
According to MTV News Ja Rule reached a plea deal with prosecutors in a Manhattan courtroom on Monday (December 13), where Supreme Court Justice Richard Carruthers promised a two year prison bid for his guilty plea. The charges stemmed from a gun bust in 2007, where the rapper, along with Cash Money’s own Lil Wayne were arrested separately following a performance in NYC.
He pleaded guilty to attempted criminal possession of a weapon, a class D felony in the second degree.
The rapper asked for a dismissal stating that the boys in blue had no right to search his Maybach, which later led to a discovery of 40 caliber pistol, as well as a small amount of weed that he fessed up to having.
Ja Rule is expected to be sentenced in February, following a court appearance that same month to report his progress to the judge.
